TuneSync matches songs using a combination of the song title, artist, album and genre and a rule for how strictly to match these components. When TuneSync initially loads the libraries for a project, it uses all available data and the strictest rule to match only those songs that are exactly the same in both libraries.
After that, any songs that are not initially matched can be matched using more relaxed rules. You can match songs in the following ways:
- Select two unmatched songs and combine them. Use the search filter to make it easier to find two matching songs.
- Switch to the Unmatched View and use the Best Matches View to combine songs.
- Select songs to match from a list and select Match... from the popup menu or press
Ctrl+M. Select Match all... from the popup menu or press Ctrl+Shift+M to match all songs in the view.
The first two options are single, direct matches that you make yourself. The last choice is more powerful in that you can have TuneSync automatically match song -- much as it does when loading the libraries -- but using matching rules picked by you. To match multiple songs, do the following:
If TuneSync has matched a song by mistake, you can split the song into two unmatched songs.
