Christmas Pickled Eggs
add sugar, salt and spices to vinegar (dilute 1/3 with water if strong)
simmer about 8 minutes
pour over eggs in quart jar
add food coloring
seal and let stand for 2 days before using
add dill, a few caraway seeds, a slice of garlic, a clove or onion to brine as desired (all optional)
