This is a relatively easy-to-make recipe for chunky applesauce.
- 12 medium apples
- 1 cup water
- ½ cup sugar
- 1 tbsp. lemon juice
- ½ tsp. cinnamon
- Peel, core and slice the apples.
- Place them in a large cooking pot, and add the water.
- Over medium heat, cook the apples until they are nearly soft.
- Add the sugar, lemon juice and cinnamon.
- Cook the mixture for a few minutes longer.
- Serve it warm or cold.
- Makes about 5 cups of applesauce.
