You'll use TuneSync to perform the following tasks:
- Loading: TuneSync does this automatically when it opens a project, simply loading the data from the iTunes libraries and performing an initial match between them. You can force TuneSync to reload the libraries at any time. You can also change the libraries at any time by changing the Project Options.
- Matching: After loading the iTunes libraries, TuneSync matches songs, so that you can transfer data from one library to the other. Default matching is very strict*, in order to ensure that TuneSync doesn't make any bad matches. Once TuneSync has generated a list of guaranteed matches, you can match again using your own criteria.
- Filtering Each of the several views in TuneSync can be further filtered by a search text or other criteria (which varies depending on the view). See Filtering Views for more information.
- Synchronizing: Any songs that are matched can be synchronized, using either a dialog for synchronizing multiple properties, the shortcut menu in the list for individual properties on selected songs or the Song Info to synchronize individual properties.
- Editing: If a value is wrong in both libraries, you can edit it to use a completely different value and fix up both libraries at once. This also works for multiple songs.
- Reverting: Any songs that have been synchronized can be reverted back to their original, loaded state, undoing any modifications caused by synchronizing.
- Verifying: Before exporting the final results, you can use the Library View for each of the libraries to check that only the modifications you want are exported.
- Exporting: Libraries can be exported to file or directly into iTunes. See Exporting Libraries for more information.
